Portion sizes and pricing swing widely across this group, from a $10 lunch bowl to a multi-course tasting menu at an upscale sushi counter, so checking recent reviews and photos is more useful than the price range alone. In Grand Rapids, dinner reservations for popular izakaya, hot pot and Korean BBQ spots fill up on Friday and Saturday nights, so booking ahead or arriving at opening is worth it. Many restaurants across Michigan run daily lunch specials on weekdays that are not listed on the dinner menu, so it is worth asking. Halal, vegetarian and gluten-free options vary a lot by kitchen; call ahead if you have a dietary restriction rather than assuming the menu will note it.

Grand Rapids is in Michigan, in the Midwest, where summers are warm, winters are cold and snowy, and most errands are done by car; businesses keep steady year-round hours with the usual holiday changes. Getting around Grand Rapids is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. Ride-share apps such as Uber and Lyft operate across Michigan's larger cities, and public transit varies from extensive to minimal.

This is my go-to place for sushi! Have been here a number of times, and itβs always wonderful. The menu is large and varied, even for lunch, and non-all-you-can-eat options like maki combos are filling and cost effective! The specialty teas are delicious, and the fact that all-you-can-eat has βnormalβ Chinese-food options like orange chicken, and sides like soups, rangoons, and edemame, means thereβs always something for everyone at the table! Good service, great food, and fun atmosphere (the playlists there rock) make this place one of my favorite places in downtown GR!

Unfortunately the red dragon roll, and the cucumber avocado tuna roll, were flops. Imagine someone took a bag of expired flaming hot Cheetos, filled them with water, and then smattered that over day old sushi. Thatβs the red dragon roll. Rice was tough, sauce on top was non existent. Cucumber avocado tuna roll isnβt worth mentioning. I did have it delivered, so maybe packaging is their greatest challenge, but the flavor, or lack-there-of, did not leave me wanting more.

We came here to celebrate and had a great experience. The food is great. We got a Small Love Boat and split it between the three of us. A great deal and a lot of protein. The white tuna was especially delicious. The waitress was professional and helpful and not hovering. The fish was real except the crab but you canβt find real crab these days anyway! The green dragon roll was descaled and delicious. And the ginger salad and miso soup were great starters. Highly recommend here. They have a $15 all you can eat lunch special that I will definitely come back to try.

Small area that seats more than expected. Longer than normal wait for our food. We had a 6:30 reservation and our food arrived at 7:45. The couple that were seated right before us were done eating by this time. When our food arrived we didnβt have chopsticks or napkins, but the other groups received these on arrival. Seemed to be some confusion but it was also extremely busy. Drinks were great. I would come again just not on a weekend during dinner hours. We did not drive here but if you are looking to drive, parking might be tight. Itβs on a busy one way, one lane street.

Food is amazing. MI sushi roll is fantastic.. Fried rice is too good π. They do have all you can eat sushi for $25, but we didnβt opt for that.We went on Friday night where only 5 tables were occupied so no wait time. I wanted to mention that our server didn't seem very welcoming during the entire time we were there. A friendlier approach would have made the experience much better."
